Savon seksuaalinen tasavertaisuus ry – GLBTIQ Rights in Savonia is an organisation for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites, transgender and intersex people and other members of sexual and gender minorities (glbtiq). Savon seta, operating in the regions of Southern and Northern Savonia, is a regional member organisation of the national Seta - LGBTI Rights in Finland. The center of activity is Kuopio but there is activity also in other towns in the area. Savon seta produces educational services, peer groups, parties and political influence to fulfill its mission. The activity is funded by revenue from parties, membership fees and contributions. The mission of Savon seta is to promote the equal treatment of sexual and gender minorities and remove discrimination. The means are spreading awareness, education and political influencing. Savon seta sets its political goals as a part of the national Seta organisation. Our central goals are i.a. - developing a system for following discrimination, - ensuring equal treatment in public and private services, - handling sexuality and gender diversity in education from comprehensive education to continuing education and - renewing family and partnership laws so that male and female couples and families with GLBTIQ parents are truly equal with other families and couples.
